Because they are a diaspora, gender is very important in their culture, as well as procreation. Most Orcks don’t care what one does with…
Wow. this is pretty spot on for my Clan! We also as our young ones to decide who they are before deciding what they are, meaning, the first years of their life they are free to run and experiment, then when the time to chose comes, they are accepted as adults into the community as they are. Warrior, Crafts person, teacher, explorer. To shun a child is a great dishonor; it is stealing what they can give to the community from them. These are ALL our children.
Likewise, I’ve noticed humans cling to nuclear family units in their descriptors You know exactly who your mom, dad, aunt , third cousin twice removed are. while I know the my grandfather is my clans elder, it makes or relationship no more special then the poor farmer who taught me to thatch a roof. I am given the same respect to call them by there first names. We have something close to human “nicknames” to denote those we are close too. Our clan is a our family, biological relations have little to do with that.
Don’t ever worry about hijacking my posts, I make them to hear how people relate to my thoughts and ideas, even if it’s on a tangent.
I love the description of your clan, while I’ve already thought extensively about how adults relate to children, I haven’t yet thought about how children relate to the clan, and your post has got me thinking. …
